The Senior Class of 2002 is in full swing making preparations for their upcoming Senior Trip to both Dallas, Texas and Washington, DC!

The Senior Trip ties in closely with Modern United States History, a class required of all Seniors at Roberts High School and taught by Superintendent Randy Durr.  The class covers from the election of John F. Kennedy as the nation's 35th President to Watergate.  During the stop in Dallas, the students will have the opportunity to see "first hand" the exact site where history changed forever that fateful day of November 22, 1963.

A tour of the Texas School Book Depository is already scheduled along with meetings with Gary Mack, lead historian of Sixth Floor Museum;  Jim Leavelle, the man handcuffed to Lee Harvey Oswald when he was shot by Jack Ruby; James Tague, the man wounded with a missed shot during the assassination in Dallas; and Bob Gemberling, the lead FBI agent in charge of the investigation of the assassination of President Kennedy!  A final treat in Dallas will be a tour of the exact route Lee Harvey Oswald took after the assassination from the Texas School Book Depository to the Texas Theater where he was finally apprehended with Madeleine Duncan Brown, author of the book "Texas in the Morning."

The journey to Washington, DC will include taking in the sites such as the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Vietnam Wall, and a tour of the Capitol and museums such as the American History Museum and the National Air and Space Museum.

Personal meetings with Montana Senators Conrad Burns and Max Baucus and  Congressman Dennis Rehberg are also in the works along with a meeting with Melody Miller, personal press secretary for the Kennedy family who works with Senator Edward Kennedy in his DC Senate office.

Attendance at Ford's Theater and a professional hockey game will also be on this great agenda!
